3D

3D.
The first task was to draw some shape and when you must to make something from it. The one I liked the most was to draw ovals and I made shoes from them. I had fun to do that. I used both sides of the sheet and if must be about 10 drawings there :
Our next task was to create a holder for bottle full of water 20x10. Bottle should be about 20cm up from the table, we could use just two papers and a bit of tape. I tried to create a shopping bag and to put bottle of water in the middle like one of the purchase. It was fine, the bottle fitted there, but I dont think it was 20 cm up from the table.
Next task after the break was from 4 sheets to create some figure where you can stand or sit on. I created steps, actually like champions steps but it was impossible to stand or sit on it, because it was to light and I think I made it to big and hadnt enough sheets for background. Also it suppose to be flat, mine wasnt, so this part I missed. Like we been joking it might get flat but just ones.

I enjoyed the class a lot, it was real fun for me. I think I ddint everything like it was told, but not always. If my steps would be stronger and could hold me it would be brilliant plus it had to be flat as well. And if the bag would be 20cm up from the table the task would be fully complete.

New day for 3DD!!!! Todays task was to create some shape which would hold 3 balls. Using 20 spaghetti sticks and a glue gun. I never been working with it, first what I did I just draw some quick shapes in my sketch book and when started to create the holder. When I did the drawings in my book I didnt expected the sticks to be so weak so actually you cant make any dynamic shape just static. I was trying to make the background first:

When I finished the background I realized that it might look to stunted. So I made some shapes on top of it. I was planing that 1 ball will stay on the background piece and 2 balls on top. And the last one has 4 balls on it, just for fun.

I realised that I finised a bit early and maybe I need to make this peace a bit more interesting. So I realised that I want all the balls to be in the air, not on the background so this is my final peace with 3 balls. By the way I liked to take pictures with the white background looks really nice!

The next task was to create a cover for our figures. Something from the top will fall on pieces. As I saw later it was a ball and really heavy, so I think its quite hard to protect your spaghetti based piece from ball with the paper. I got just 1 A1 paper and had to protect my figure. I just made 4 legs and a top, I didnt expect that ball would be heavy one (basketball). This is my protector and what left after the ball crashed it down.

But the background is still good!

Thats it tidy up!
I enjoyed 3d a lot, it was fun and interesting. From the begining I realised that I like to create some shapes I was even working on my break time. What I would do diferently I would cover my piece in a diferent way, for example probably I would create circular shape of a1 sheet and place crumpled piece of papers in it. But anyway I dont think that it would handle that ball! I saw that everything I am planing never working properly I am creating some drawing in my skech book and when I trnsfer it to reality I have totaly diferent opion about it and I keep doing totally diferent shapes or forms, when everything I was planing just becomes useless. But I think this time I did well everyone said its nice and they like it, someone even took a picture of my final piece of spagetti structure.

Tate Modern. Poetry And Dream. Mike Kelley

TATE MODERN.
POETRY AND DREAM.
MIKE KELLEY.
CHANNEL ONE, CHANNEL TWO, CHANNEL THREE

I just visited the Tate Modern for the first time. I saw many things, but not too many things grabbed my attention. My first impression about Tate Modern was good, there were plenty of exhibition rooms in the gallery. Each of them had a title or main idea. Most of the time the room had more than one artist in it, so I was a bit confused about why they were in the same place. I chose a which was focused  around one artist, Mike Kelley. He was born in USA, Detroit (1954-2012). He lived in Los Angeles, was interested in folk myths, ufology, psychedelia and spiritualism..
The exhibition was named Poetry and Dreams, which took place on the second floor. The room I had chosen was room number 9, it had 3 sculptures in the center and a few photographs next to the walls. The three long plywood structures are named channels: one, two and three. They stood around one meter in height, had wooden tops, were rectangular in shape and an eyeholes. They were made of simple tin foil with light in the primary color of yellow, blue and red.  Around were some wires and an old tape recorder.
The sculptures linked back to his early birdhouse pieces (1978). Despite their seemingly implausible designs, the birdhouses were accompanied by handwritten notes explaining their functional and philosophical features. At opposite sides of the room there were some photographs from Kelleys earlier performances. During the performance Kelley spoke into a tube connected to a tape player, whilst intermittently beating a bass drum.  He recorded spirits voices on tape. There were pictures of the instruments he used during his performances.
Though the minimalistic sculptures appeared to be simply filled with light, they were filled with a mystical charge. I was attracted by the idea and I had to use my imagination to see more than a colour inside the sculptures. It’s a birdhouse with some connection between mystical part of the world. Birdhouse is a symbol. Kelley thought that the birdhouses were the same as spirit collectors, this meant his channels became homes to the birds, which he identified as spirits. The symbology of birds are frequently in galleries. Many artists portray birds in their works, expressing the“birds”in different shapes and forms. There are a few meanings of the birds I in this gallery:  child, warrior, friend and danger.
The Kelleys minimalism sculpture is like gates to ulterior part of the world and channel plays a link role. I explore Kelleys researches of mysterious part of the world  and the channel is like a bridge to it.
The thing I didn’t like in Mike Kelleys exhibition was I saw the pictures from earlier works, which suppose to supplement the exhibition. But every photography makes even more questions - pictures from performances made in 1978 haven’t the best quality and there are not to many of them. If you just see the photography of musical instrument you cant hear a sound it makes. If you see just a photography from performance you cant feel the spirit of it And all the exhibition is about feeling something mysterious and paranormal and for that you can use only your eyes.
It was the only one room I entered and it left me many thoughts in my head even after I went out. I never saw the art and mystics things got into together.

In channel one, channel two and channel three Mike Kelley subverts the rational forms of minimalist sculpture, imbuing them with a mystical psychedelic charge.

Colorful legs!
Fancy shoes!
Colors from white to black, I used all of my painting materials to make it.  I used 2 pairs of ties, 4-5 newspapers to make the shape of legs, got that really long. Didnt expect that kind of shape, thought it would be a bit more heavy and bigger, but the shoes can fit on this kind of feat as well. I made trainers and high heals shoes (classic ones) like in my sketch book. two legs - two different shoes.

The new brand is coming to town:

Me and my created crazy legs!

Legs need some rest, been walking all the day!

Its a beginning of a new friendship!

So it was the final day for fashion week. My legs looked colourful and funny. I am not really sure what garment it could be, maybe bag? Actually I was just thinking about legs how to create legs but forgot that I need to a garment for legs, this is how the shoes appeared. Actually its hard to plan smething on me, I keep changing my minds and ideas all the time. I am looking of what materials I have what I can make from them. I think I did well I wanted to use the colour for legs so they got all the palette of colours plus shoes. All the classmates were coming and taking the pictures of my legs so I think they liked that.
